Animal Assisted Therapy:
Meet our resident therapy dog, Lucy!
Lucy has been a working therapy dog for 3 years. Lucy is an Australian Cattle dog and extremely calm for the breed. If you have a dog allergy, have a fear of dogs, or just do not want her to be a part of your sessions and need her to be in her crate, please let me know and she can happily take a nap during your session. However, if you do want her to be a part of your sessions, she will be happy to make a new friend and support you on your healing journey.
There are not any additional fees to have animal therapy as a part of your services.
Lucy was left tied outside of an animal shelter overnight without any information from the previous owners, but she was likely being used for breeding. She was underweight, had just had a litter of puppies, and had a bullet still in her body from a gunshot wound that had scabbed over. Luckily, unlike some other dogs with human inflicted trauma, Lucy loves and trusts every new person she meets. She loves her job and would like to meet you and give you snuggles or let you rub her tummy while you process your own trauma in sessions. She is well attuned to human emotions and will comfort you when she feels big emotions bubbling up. She is also up for a game of fetch in the movement space if you want to play with her.
If you want Lucy to be a part of your therapy, please sign this additional animal therapy form.
